Up your brisket sandwich game with an Apple Slaw
Yum! A good coleslaw is an essential side at any BBQ but when layering in a brisket sandwich, I like to think about what will enhance that slaw rather than the slaw enhancing the BBQ.
The Apple Slaw recipe is made with:
- Shredded apple
- Shredded carrot
- Shredded cabbage
- Thinly sliced celery
- Apple cider vinegar
- Mayonaise
Don't forget to shred the cabbage super thin AND give it a salt pickle for 15 minutes to ensure your mayonnaise dressing doesn't get watery. It's simple. Just shred the cabbage, put into a sieve, sprinkle with 1-2 tbs of salt and toss a little bit to get the salt in contact with all the cabbage. Leave it to pull moisture out of the cabbage for 15 minutes and then wash off ALL the salt - taste the cabbage. You'll be amazed at how good it tastes on it own immediately.
