Delicious French butter & garlic baked fresh clams

I don't like to eat out very often, as it is far to easy to be critical of 'professional cooking' and to be disappointed by overpriced, under-considered food. The French, however, are great at keeping things simple, not to say that they don't have amazing complex dishes. Some of my most memorable meals have been the simplest in humble locations.

I had delicious French butter & garlic baked fresh clams with Parmesan & breadcrumb crust at the Normandy seaside in a cafe on outskirts of Barneville-Carteret. These chefs in Normandy sure know their seafood cooking! The ingredients shone through and I'll be buying some fresh clams to bring back to the UK on my next trip in France in October when they are in prime season.
